The vernissage at the Mae Flynn space on April 19, 2024, was undoubtedly a remarkable event. It not only showcased captivating South African Artwork and Fine Wines, but also created a cultural exchange and appreciation among locals and expats alike.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Spier Art Trust, attendees had the opportunity to delve into the vibrant world of contemporary South African art right in the heart of Brussels. The Spier Art Trust's initiative in Cape Town, which supports living contemporary artists in South Africa, underscores the commitment to sustainability and cultural preservation. The interconnected network of likeminded businesses who support and nourish the
culture and community of South African people.

Holly de Vries, the driving force behind Mae Flynn, deserves commendation for
curating such an impeccable event. Her vision to create a space for South African
voices to resonate within Europe is both admirable and vital for fostering cross-
cultural dialogue and understanding. Mae Flynn shares space with local Belgian
Jeweler Joëlle Van de Voorde, and Ikono founder Clare Baillet. Working with
these dynamic Belgian women adds a layer of discourse which tempts us to
believe that modern collborative approaches enhances the experience for
the audience and the founders.
