Audrey Anderson (1982 - ) - Spier Creative Block Art
Audrey Anderson's style explores the blurred lines between graphic narrative techniques and fine arts. She uses various mediums and techniques to overemphasize and complicate her subject matter of everyday and banal moments in life. The result is artworks which act as visual clues, sparking a sense of curiosity and inviting dialogue withing open-ended, interpersonal narratives.
Born in Sunnyside, Pretoria, Anderson completed a BA Fine Arts (Honours) degree at the University of Pretoria in 2006. Since her first project space solo-exhibition titled Zamalek (2008) at Gordart Gallery in Johannesburg, Anderson has participated in numerous international and local exhibitions at Galleries. Art Fairs, Art Studios and other public places. Most recently Anderson was the Winner of the 2016 SA Taxi Foundation Art Award. She is currently working at a collective studio space at Assemblage in Johannesburg.
Artworks of Anderson are included in the collections of Nando's UK and SA, Hollard, Spier, Alpine Attitude and Taxi SA.
